Enjoy the sun in the shade
For sunny days it can be nice to get in the shade, and with a terrace and balcony awning you can enjoy the shade outside, under the awning fabric. As a bonus, an awning also protects against the garden furniture fading, and with a colorful awning fabric, it can contribute to the rest of the interior design. With an awning you get all the same benefits as a large parasol, you do not have to put it back and forth after the season, and since the awning hangs on the wall, there is free passage under it. Finally, an awning is a good alternative to a covered terrace, as you get more light into the home when the awning is rolled in opposite a covered terrace.

Extend the evenings with an awning
With an awning, there is no need to move inside when it gets dark or cool, because the awning’s fabric protects against the dew. So when the sun goes down and the dew falls in the late evening hours, you can still enjoy the outdoors under the awning and you have the option of choosing a cassette with built-in spots so that the terrace is lit. Thus, a terrace awning has both an insulating effect and light to give you several hours to use your outdoor area.

Give the apartment several square meters with a balcony awning
For an apartment or for another form of housing without the possibility of access to a garden or terrace, a balcony awning is a good solution for creating outdoor spaces. Extend the summer days with a balcony awning that gives you shade and comfortable temperature during the day and shelter from the dew in the evening. A balcony awning is an obvious opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while being in a home environment.

Full cassette, half cassette and open awnings
You have three options when choosing how to mount your awning on the wall. You can choose a full cassette awning, which ensures that both the awning fabric and the articulated arms are optimally protected, as the cassette closes completely around them when you roll in the awning. With a half-cassette awning, the awning fabric and arms are protected from above, as a half-cassette, opposite the full-cassette awning, is open at the bottom. The advantage of a half-cassette is that it is usually lighter in weight and can therefore be mounted on walls with less resistance. Finally, you can choose the open model, where the awning winds around a rod when you roll it in. The open model is suitable for walls, where it is protected by a roof cave or the balcony of the upper living room, so that it is sheltered from rain and wind.

Double shield with front boom
An awning provides sun and dew protection from above, and with a motorized roller blind in the front boom, you can also shield from the side. The blind is suitable when you want to shield from low-lying sunlight without having to drive the awning in or out. If your awning is mounted above a window section, you can also use the blind as a standard exterior screen for sun protection, as you can lower it without the awning being rolled out. The blind can be lowered all the way to 210 cm, and you can have the blind in the same color as the awning or choose a separate color. A tightly woven blinds provide more stagnant air, while a transparent blinds allow you to sit in shelter from the sun and dew, while maintaining your full look.

Automatic operation with solar and wind control
You can connect your awning to a sensor so that when the sun is shining, the awning automatically rolls out, or if it blows hard, it rolls itself in. This can make the awning last longer as it is exposed to less load. In addition, a self-adjusting awning creates life when, for example, you are on a weekend or summer holiday stay, and do not want the house to seem empty.

Awnings with manual and motorized operation
You can operate your awning manually with a crank, where you roll the awning in and out via arm power. Then you can choose the motorized solution, where you via a remote control or app on your smartphone or tablet device, control the awning back and forth as well as turn on and off the spotlights. Our motorized awnings are comfortable with the Somfy Connexoon RTS and Somfy TaHoma® control systems.
